Renewing a website

Since 2000 I’ve been creating images that trace the development of the Game, be it football, baseball or hockey, through torso images of uniforms and the playing stadiums, ballparks and arenas they have been played in.

The over 1700 images, created by me since 2000, make up a huge part of my portfolio. Most of the images are in use in various products which retail across North America. Occasionally the plaqued posters show up in surprising ways. For instance in the background of a bar scene in a sports themed movie, an estate sale or decorating a lavish cottage in cottage country.

The torsos try to convey that an actual person is inside the equipment. This is especially important with football images. In football the players physically vary enormously depending on their position. There has been a trend towards larger bodies over the years.

Further Adventures of the Artist

Imagine yourself out for lunch with a friend. You look over their shoulder and find one of your own works looking back at you. Recently this is just what happened.

Lady Di of Carp was the 3 year old Clydesdale Mare Champion at The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in 1989. Her owner Stan Carruthers of Ottawa decided to have her win recorded with an original portrait. The portrait, in pen & ink + pencil crayon was only half the task. Next a smaller 8” x 10” black & white Ink version was needed styled for letterhead, business cards with a numbered edition of 25. This special image went to his associates in the Clydesdale world.
